But there was a difference! It wasn’t trying to convince a GOOD MAN that he was in trouble with a BAD GOD! But that
it was to convince BAD MEN that they had deserved the wrath and anger of a GOOD GOD! And the consequences were
repentance, that lead to faith, and lead to the life. Dear friends, there’s only one reason, one reason for a sinner to repent and
that’s because Jesus Christ deserves the worship and adoration and the love and the obedience of his heart. Not because he’ll
go to heaven. If the only reason you repented, dear friend, was to keep out of Hell all you are is JUST A LEVITE SERVING
FOR TEN SHEKELS AND A SHIRT! THAT’S ALL! You’re trying to serve God because He’ll do you good! But a repentant heart
is a heart that has seen something of the enormity of the crime of playing God and denying the just and righteous God the
worship and obedience that He deserves! Why should a sinner repent? BECAUSE GOD DESERVES THE OBEDIENCE AND
LOVE THAT HE’S REFUSED TO GIVE HIM! Not so that he’ll go to heaven. If the only reason he repents is so that he’ll go to
heaven, it’s nothing but trying to make a deal or a bargain with God.
I have talked with people that have no assurance that sins are forgiven. They want to feel safe, before they’re willing
to commit themselves to Christ. But I believe that the only ones whom God actually witnesses by His Spirit and are born of
Him, are the people, whether they say it or not, that come to Jesus Christ and say something like this, “Lord Jesus, I’m going
to obey you, and love you, and serve you, and do what you want me to do, as long as I live even if I go to Hell at the end of
the road, simply because YOU ARE WORTHY TO BE LOVED, AND OBEYED, AND SERVED, and I ‘m not trying to make
a deal with you!” Do you see the difference? Do you see the difference? Between a Levite serving for ten shekels and a shirt
or a Micah building a chapel because God will do you good AND someone that repents for the glory of God.
Why should a person come to the cross? Why should a person embrace death with Christ? Why should a person be
willing to go, in identification, down to the cross and into the tomb and up again? I’ll tell you why! BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY
WAY THAT GOD CAN GET GLORY OUT OF A HUMAN BEING!!! If you say it’s because he’ll get joy or peace or blessing
or success or fame then it’s nothing but a Levite serving for ten shekels and a shirt. THERE IS ONLY ONE REASON FOR YOU
TO GO TO THE CROSS DEAR YOUNG PERSON. And that’s because until you come to the place of union with Christ in death
you are defrauding the Son of God of the glory that He could get out of your life. For no flesh shall glory in His sight. And until
you’ve understood the sanctifying work of God by the Holy Ghost taking you into union with Christ in death and burial and
resurrection, you have to serve in what you have and all you have which is under the sentence of death: human personality,
and human nature, and human strength, and human energy. And God will get no glory out of that!
So the reason for you to go to the cross isn’t that you’re going to get victory, you will get victory. It isn’t that you’re going
to have joy, you will have joy. But the reason for you to embrace the cross and press through until you know that you can testify
with Paul “I am crucified with Christ” (Gal 2:20), it isn’t what you’re going to get out of it, but what He’ll get out of it, for the glory
of God. By the same token: Why aren’t you pressed through to know the fullness of the Holy Spirit? Why aren’t you pressed
through to know the fullness of Christ? I’ll tell you why? BECAUSE THE ONLY POSSIBLE WAY THAT JESUS CHRIST WILL

What does a Holy God see in America the great?

How much time do I have for God?

–         70% of our sons and daughters have left the church.

It is our example that caused it.

We are raising a Godless generation.

–         Much of the Church has a form of

godliness but is denying its power.

2 Tim. 3:5.

Is there any hope? Our only hope is Revival.

Why do we need Revival God’s way in America?

Here is part of a poem by Alabama

Judge Roy Moore who refused to remove the

10 commandments from his courtroom.

America the beautiful, or so you used to be.

Land of the Pilgrims’ pride;

I’m glad they’ll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand,

Oh, sweet land of liberty; Your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away

From the teaching of God’s love and need to always pray.

We’ve kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is his throne.

You think that God’s not angry that our land’s a moral slum?

How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes?

If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray;Seek His holy face and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven, and forgive us of our sins,            He’ll heal our sickly land and those who live within.

But, America the beautiful, If you don’t – then you will see,

A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from thee.

Judge Roy Moore was sued, removed from the bench,

and lost his judgeship, but his light  shines brightly for God in America.

Morning and Evening: Daily Readings
by C. H. Spurgeon
Thursday Morning, April 8

If they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

Luke 23:31

Among other interpretations of this suggestive question, the following is full of teaching: If the innocent substitute for sinners, suffer thus, what will be done when the sinner himself –the dry tree–shall fall into the hands of an angry God? When God saw Jesus in the sinner’s place, he did not spare him; and when he finds the unregenerate without Christ, he will not spare them. O sinner, Jesus was led away by his enemies: so shall you be dragged away by fiends to the place appointed for you. Jesus was deserted of God; and if he, who was only imputedly a sinner, was deserted, how much more shall you be? Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? what an awful shriek! But what shall be your cry when you shall say, O God! O God! why hast thou forsaken me? and the answer shall come back, Because ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh. If God spared not his own Son, how much less will he spare you! What whips of burning wire will be yours when conscience shall smite you with all its terrors. Ye richest, ye merriest, ye most self-righteous sinners–who would stand in your place when God shall say, Awake, O sword, against the man that rejected me; smite him, and let him feel the smart for ever? Jesus was spit upon: sinner, what shame will be yours! We cannot sum up in one word all the mass of sorrows which met upon the head of Jesus who died for us, therefore it is impossible for us to tell you what streams, what oceans of grief must roll over your spirit if you die as you now are. You may die so, you may die now. By the agonies of Christ, by his wounds and by his blood, do not bring upon yourselves the wrath to come! Trust in the Son of God, and you shall never die.

Evening, April 8

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.

Psalm 23:4

Behold, how independent of outward circumstances the Holy Ghost can make the Christian! What a bright light may shine within us when it is all dark without! How firm, how happy, how calm, how peaceful we may be, when the world shakes to and fro, and the pillars of the earth are removed! Even death itself, with all its terrible influences, has no power to suspend the music of a Christian’s heart, but rather makes that music become more sweet, more clear, more heavenly, till the last kind act which death can do is to let the earthly strain melt into the heavenly chorus, the temporal joy into the eternal bliss! Let us have confidence, then, in the blessed Spirit’s power to comfort us. Dear reader, are you looking forward to poverty? Fear not; the divine Spirit can give you, in your want, a greater plenty than the rich have in their abundance. You know not what joys may be stored up for you in the cottage around which grace will plant the roses of content. Are you conscious of a growing failure of your bodily powers? Do you expect to suffer long nights of languishing and days of pain? O be not sad! That bed may become a throne to you. You little know how every pang that shoots through your body may be a refining fire to consume your dross–a beam of glory to light up the secret parts of your soul. Are the eyes
growing dim? Jesus will be your light. Do the ears fail you? Jesus’ name will be your soul’s best music, and his person your dear delight. Socrates used to say, Philosophers can be happy without music; and Christians can be happier than philosophers when all outward causes of rejoicing are withdrawn. In thee, my God, my heart shall triumph, come what may of ills without! By thy power, O blessed Spirit, my heart shall be exceeding glad, though all things should fail me here below.

Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; 26 that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless.

Do you know the implications of that, Christ died for the church, we are suppose to love our wives sacrifically, that is unconditional and to love as much you can.
